Sister, Sister!

Had some very nerdy pictures taken with my sister, while she was "laying over" in Chicago this weekend.

Thanks to her sucky job, her Executive Platinum status got us both upgraded to first class on our flight to Dallas. It was especially nice, because we were on a Boeing 777. And, we hung out like VIPs at the Admiral Club before boarding our flight. Ok, not really, but still very cool for this country bumpkin here who can only fly coach, with the rest of the "regular" people.

In first class, waiting for our warm nuts.

Angst Baby! Angst!!

Not sure how it all started, but a lot of people, different groups of friends have been talking to me a lot about relationships, loves, etc. lately. It's very interesting to contrast the relationship woes of friends at work versus the drama that my brothers & sisters in Christ may experience. It's almost sad, for people who can't "give it all to God." It's as if they can never have that "rest assured" feeling of light at the end of the tunnel. Even if they get the girl or guy in the end, the so-called commitment isn't built on anything firm. (Ok. Of course, I realize that I'm making a lot of generalizations here...I'm just saying that these are some of my observations based on the convos that I've had with people. I'm sure there are a lot of atheist couples who make it happily ever after. So don't bite my head off.) On the other hand, my Christian friends, though they may experience similar angst-sy feelings, ultimately, God's will for them should prevail. And what can be better in knowing that His will was done? More beautiful than a covenant made with God as the witness?

**Edit** I've been told that I need to make another disclaimer here. If you're wondering if I'm talking about you specifically in the previous paragraph. I'm not. There. **Edit ends**

So yeah, that's that.

On a loosely similar note, I've been feeling a bit of wedding withdraw. I'm still getting all the bridal magazines at work (b/c we're big advertisers), and it's kinda sad to look them and sorta not care. Or to know that I won't be able to incorporate that to my dream wedding one day. Haha. Ok, I'm a weirdo.

The Second Coming

My eyes did not deceive me. I saw it again last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Ok, I don't know if it's the same one or a new entry.) It's black, about 3 inches long, minus the tail.

People, HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Tis the End of the Weekend Again. Oh, Just Let Me Get Through Next Week...

So you know how it's been snowing quite a bit in the last couple of days? Well, my car has been sitting in the same spot for those couple of days, and very buried under the snow. And naive girl from Texas here does not have any of the proper tools for these situations. (I do own a scraper/brush, but really, it's more for TX "wintry mix" conditions.) However, thank goodness for my VERY thoughtful friends Winston & Lamont who have both (on separate occasions) helped me to clear off the 10 inches of snow collected on the top of my car, in 10-degree weather, without gloves, in the middle of the night. THANKS guys! I'm very touched and appreciative. You are swell. :)

And girls, they are both single and available. ;)

Worlds Apart

Just checked the weather forecast for Dallas tomorrow (out of habit, I guess), and "icy, wintry mix" is expected there. Which probably means no work and no school for them...lucky dogs! Meanwhile, I'm here, braving the weather with the temperature in single digit...Fahrenheit. And still have to go to work. *sigh*
